Buhari probes Ministry of Interior
– Dambazau launched ad-hoc committee to probe the activities of the Ministry of Interior since1999
– The probe is in determination of promoting change agenda of the incumbent administration
President Muhammadu buhari has launched another probe into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government since 1999 to date.
Abdulrahman Dambazau, the minister of interior, has established an 11-member ad-hoc committee to probe the Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Memorandum of Understanding entered into by the ministry since 1999.
Osaigbovo Ehisienmen, minister’s secretary, revealed this in a statement in Abuja on February 8, Monday.
He cited Minister Dambazau as saying that the move was in continuance to his resolve at endorsing the “change” agenda of the incumbent government with a view to guaranteeing good governance, transparency and accountability in the conduct of government business.
The minister reminded members of the committee of its essential objectives, which comprise – to guide federal government and indeed the ministry on the suitable ways of actualising the objectives for which it was inaugurated.
The committee has six weeks to complete its task.
The chairperson of the committee is Mrs. Morayo Alimi while Mr. Bola Odugbesan will act as secretary.
Indeed, in his first six months of office, President Buhari received the nickname “Baba Go Slow” for his unhurried, deliberate style of leadership.
However, the current crusade of Buhari to rid the nation of corruption has been applauded by many Nigerians.
The country’s leader launched a lot of probes into the previous government since taking the office. One of the most scandalous is the case of former national security adviser, who is being accused of diverting money meant for the purchase of arms in the fight against Boko Haram.
