– The EPL table leaders have set aside £23million for Musa
– Reports say the Nigerian striker is interested in an EPL move
– CSKA hope to keep the player till the end of the season and possibly beyond
After the initial failed bid during the January Transfer Window, surprise English Premier League leaders Leicester City have set aside £23million for Nigerian attacker Ahmed Musa in the European summer transfer, according to the Mirror (UK).
It would be recalled that Musa’s present club CSKA Moscow rejected a $21.6m (£15.1m) offer in which Leicester were poised to improve the fee up to the tune of $27m (£18.9m) valuation of the forward, with Manchester United also keen on landing the striker before the close of the transfer window, but to no avail.
CSKA are currently top of the Russian Premier League and face Dynamo Kiev in the last 16 round of the UEFA Champions League with reports saying that the management of the club still need the services of the Nigerian atleast till the end of the season.
The Foxes are still very much interested in the Nigerian and have prepared an improved £23million bid for the Nigerian.
Also, incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has disclosed that Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is his primary transfer target as he begins to prepare to resume his new post at the Etihad.
It would be recalled that the current Bayern Munich coach, Pep Guardiola was appointed as the new manager at Manchester City for next season on a three-year-deal.
The 45-year-old will replace Manuel Pellegrini, who will leave on June 30.
Ahead of his move, Guardiola is already making plans to ‘steal’ Suarez from the Catalan giants as the Uruguayan hitman has formed a devastating relationship with Lionel Messi and Neymar Jnr which has seen them evolve into the world’s most potent attack force.
It was also disclosed that Suarez’s agent is Pep Guardiola’s brother, Pere, and Manchester City have been encouraged that a deal in excess of £40m could land him.
