President Buhari gives Alake of Egbaland appointment

– President Muhammadu Buhari installed the Alake of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo as the first Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI).
– Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his passionate efforts to rid the country of insecurity, corruption and unemployment.
– Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo urged Nigerians to give President Buhari’s administration full support in its drive to return Nigeria to the path of progress.

Alake of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo is the first Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI).
President Muhammadu Buhari has once again proved that he is an admirer of reputable people as he installed the Alake of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo as the first Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI).
Vanguard reports that the President was represented by Prof A. I. Essien during the 4th Matriculation ceremony of the institution at Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state, yesterday, January 26.
The monarch, who spoke after his conferment, thanked the President for finding him worthy of such appointment. The Oba advised students of the institution to ignore cultism and other vices.
“I urge you to shun social vices and be law-abiding and serious minded in your studies, because those who do not read are to be pitied than those who cannot read.
“Who you are today and where you will be in the next 25 years is directly proportional to your reading habits, the relationship you cultivate with others and your closeness to God,” he said.
The traditional ruler monarch applauded President Buhari for his passionate efforts to rid the country of insecurity, corruption and unemployment.
“I urge all Nigerians to give Buhari’s government full support in its drive to return the country to the path of progress.
“We hope to liase with the concerned levels of government and stakeholders to ensure that the needful is done,” he said.
Speaking also at the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Oye Ibidapo-Obe also extolled President Buhari for his foresightedness in choosing the Oba as the Chancellor of the institution.

“He is indeed a foremost Royal Father, a man of impeccable credentials well versed in governance, entrepreneurship, interpersonal relationship, and Diplomatic meandering; all key qualities vital to achieving more success for FUNAI.
“FUNAI needs such a man with towering credentials and intimidating presence,” he said.
The institution, which matriculated 1, 098 students also charged them to ignore cultism.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed worry over the low ranking on Nigerian universities in the world. The President who was represented by Prof. Julius Okojie at the convocation ceremony of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi on Saturday, January 23, disclosed his anxiety.
The chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Oba Rufus Aladesanmi also urged the graduating students to explore the opportunities of self-employment. He noted that in spite of the high number of applicants, the school only takes a small number due to infrastructure. .
