Presidency gives EFCC the nod to probe Jonathan

The Presidency has added its voice to calls by some Nigerians that former President Goodluck Jonathan, be probed by the EFCC if suspected of any corrupt practice.
The presidency stated that the anti-graft agency is free to investigate anybody, and that President Buhari entered into no secret pact to exclude anybody from investigation by the agency, or any other agency for that matter.
Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, reportedly told a national daily on Friday, that no Nigerian, no matter how highly placed is excluded from the anti-corruption fight of the present administration.

He explained further, that the Presidency had given the anti-corruption body a free hand to investigate and try anybody involved in corrupt practices, and that the President was not interested in teleguiding the anti-graft agency.
Adesina was reacting to allegations that Buhari had been reluctant to grant permission to the EFCC to investigate Jonathan.
He reportedly said, “The President does not teleguide the EFCC in any way.”
